Alan has picked up the Shanghai Rummy and I think I'll have to really learn how to play poker now. Pool too apparently, because I'd like to be at least decent at that because it's fun and I would rather not suck.

I had a glass of scotch and we talked with the bartender about the end of Western Europe as we know it on Friday night, and I saw the movie critic from the Chronicle just two seats over. I was good and did not kick him in the shins as I have threatened to do so many times over the years. Last night I drank martinis and contemplated learning to play pool.

Sitting on the floor, laughing, watching a movie about Greek war and the most beautiful woman in the world, eating ice cream before crawling into bed.

When you learn how to play pool, you have to teach me how. I suck at it so bad - I'm always embarassed to play. One day when I have real money and can afford a real house, I want a pool room so so bad. With a bar in it of course :-P

Western Europe won't end.

Two reasons:

1)It ducks its head now and again, but seems to pop back up in the struggle of east and west very well.

2)America is also western Europe, and we ain't goin' nowhere for a while. ~KMK
