geekdom and the first round of questions
I wake up, hang my slacks up in the shower so I can steam out the wrinkles, and stretch back out on the bed beside him to check my email. He makes coffee, and turns on his own machine.
I dreamed the other night I was on a sailboat with Orlando. I have no idea where or why. Perhaps inspired by the pirate movie, which we're going to see again no doubt as we've both been cackling over it again and again. I bet Melynda would like to see it again too.
Trying to decide if I want to read Klima or Skvorecky this weekend, inbetween games and lunches and friends.
Answers:
What gives you the greatest joy?
The company I keep, and the moments where I know I'm doing exactly what I was born to do. Spending nights with my friends, writing, swimming at noon under the summer sky, driving at night with the music up, falling into bed beside the people I love.
Why hasn't there been a woman president?
Because no woman has ever mounted a majorly funded campaign for the presidency. Becaise YOU haven't run yet. Because few female politicians have developed the national stage presence to mount such a move.
Am I a mudblood, or a Pureblood who just doesn't know it yet ?
The crystal ball is still on my desk at work, so... You see my theory is this. One of your parents was a Muggle, and the other was a mysterious pureblood who forsook his family for love.
Why is the sky blue?
There's some entirely complicated explanation involving physics and dust particles and atoms and such that I won't go into here. The sky is blue because blue goes well with everything, and hence the sky can compliment any number of landscapes if it is blue. Thumping good design I say.
Is it true that you can advance fairly quickly at NAFD? Someone suggested it to me as a foot-in-the-door kinda place to start over.
Do you mean the National Association of Funeral Directors? Because I hear that's a damn fine market to be in these days. So yes, it is. Or do you mean FAFD? Because that is also a yes. Play the game, look smart, be helpful, and you can jumps ranks. I've seen a lot of it. We're hiring right now.
