Another cheery bit of news to contribute to my headache.

Israel's parliament on Thursday passed a new law that would force Palestinians who marry Israelis to live separate lives or move out of Israel despite charges from human rights groups and Israeli Arabs that the law is racist.

Now, who can name other countries that have passed similar laws? Oh I don't know, like say, Nazi Germany? Fan-fucking-tastic, isn't it? It absolutely blows my mind that such things are possible. I shouldn't be surprised, I should expect the worst from people. But of all the possible places where one might think people would have learned a lesson or two about these slippery slopes...

I want to hide in the shower for the rest of the day and not come out.

There is much about Israel that seems to prove my theory that suffering monstrous indignities at the hands of oppressors does not necessarily make a people more noble. Most everything that happens in the Middle East anymore just leaves me shaking my head in dismay.
