My stress level bounces around more than a barometer in Texas. I go from wanting to scream at the most inconsequential of comments to being utterly void of emotion. Kinda cool, but a bit disturbing.

Saw my aunt for the first time in many years today and it is as if Tricia has not aged a day. She looks so young and exactly as I remember her. She brought us coffee and my uncle Barney's secret spice rub for cooking. Yay! We helped my mother set up her Christmas tree and petted cats. She brought her wedding photos down too. I was two years old and slept through the ceremony in a $60 brown dress my grandmother bought that had bells in the petticoat. In the family picture I look cranky. I am also carrying my brown stuffed pony everywhere.

Alan is currently making baked portabellos in balsamic and olive oil, pan seared ribeye steaks with a crust of fresh ground peppercorns, and sweet italian sausage tortellini with a sauce made from steak juice, onion, garlic and various other things. Our house smells incredibly good. I'm eating chocolate covered macadmia nuts and drinking vitamin water.
