sunday sunday sunday

We've managed to do six loads of laundry today, so we weren't completely lazy. A load of dishes too, and I picked up empty cans and bottles. We even hung our clean clothes up for a change.

I just saw the craziest play of the OU/LSU game, a punt block where OU managed to snatch the ball away and land a yard from the end zone. Now they're having trouble scoring. Pretty harsh game so far, with some brutal hits. I'm torn as to which team I should be cheering for here. OU just scored, and hence the game is tied up 7-7. Go figure.

Car commercials baffle me. I just don't get whatever message they are trying to implant in my brain. Now food advertising always works on me. Curious. Advertising is both evil and brilliant stuff. The psychology of it is something I would love the time and money to study. I had only one media analysis course in college, which was sadly a front for the instructor to pimp his own book and force us to draw pictures with our off hand. But I had a great time deconstructing print advertisements in terms of angles, effects and whatnot.

I'm trying to figure out whether I need paperwork or cards for my vision insurance, which is a royal pain. Should have asked Brett last night, but we got to playing cards and all else escaped me. I played terribly last night, and lost both games by more than 100 points. My company is now outsourcing our HR to Fidelity, which was probably the biggest mistake ever.

Car commercials, particularly truck commercials are known within the advertising business as some of the worst commercials. They actually did one study where they switched the audio of two truck commercials (like they were showing a dodge but heard the song/talking about a ford) and most people didn't even notice!

Well, that's good to know. I was wondering if it was just me. And I'm not surprised about the switcheroo. I don't think I could name any of the models featured in the fourty car commercials I've seen today. ;)
