eight hours too long

threeplusfireLet's hope UPS left my package at the office so I can retrieve it in the morning.
It's hard to work a solid eight when there is hardly anything to do. Difficult and frustrating. I spent an hour reading the news, and thought I was about to be bawled out for it when my supervisors walked up. Instead they asked me to help them with an accountabilities project. Strange how that works. I'm earning the reputation of someone "not afraid to argue" and it's never clear if that's good or bad. In the meantime, the PA music is slowly driving me mad.
I want to make cookies, or perhaps brownies. I need a pastry bag, as I would like to attempt some meringue cookies on my own. My enormous cookie book has a terrible index, so I'm reduced to paging through it until I find something that catches my eye. I found a coffee brownie, but it called for instant coffee crystals and I don't want to buy those. Perhaps regular brownies with a chocolate espresso syrup swirl? I really just want an excuse to make whipped cream in the mixer.
Still have not eaten at Lubys. Curses.
