I laid my head on my car's hood this afternoon after I got off the phone with the police department and cried. There was just this awful, heavy feeling of injury. Why would someone want to hurt my car while it was sleeping peacefully in the parking lot? My poor car, it's cold and the glass is all over the interior. I feel terrible for it.

Ever since reading your post today I've been looking at everyone I see suspiciously. A glint of anger in my eyes, just waiting for someone to even look at my car. I grew up in the country, and honestly this is like the second time I've even known someone who has been broken into. It terrify's me. I grew up in a town where you didn't even lock your doors.

Thank you. It's strange, but I suppose I've lived with the "it will never happen to me" feeling even though several of my friends have suffered the same fate. All I can say is make sure you've got theft protection on your car or renters insurance.
