we didn't win the lottery, oh well
Driving home today, I had to avoid a rather large and perfectly shaped Christmas tree. It was in the middle of 183 on the bridge over Lamar. Still completely green, too.
Visited with my mother for a bit, admired blankets she had recently finished. She really does incredible work. Her most recent one was crocheted with two strands of yarn to be extra thick, and the colors have a pearlescent quality. I think she will be doing something in purple for my cousin's wedding.
One of my mother's coworkers got me a cookie press! How fun. The reason I hardly ever make cookies is because I get tired of rolling out dough, or sticky spoons. It has sixteen different cookie shapes. I've always wanted one of these, but I never got around to buying one myself.
My mother convinced me to sign up for the Science Fiction Book Club. It's a reasonable contract, four books over two years. They're offering a small range of graphic novels these days too. I am a sucker for books.
