I've been skipping my period the last few months via skipping my placebo week, but I hate not having that not-pregnant assurance. You can't win either way. Menstruation is some sort of biological flaw as far as I can tell. The pain is INTENSE (not for me any more due to birth control). How could that be neccessary? There are no other bodily functions that involve pain. I did finally figure out (in my head anyway) why humans have periods so damn often though. Most animals are in heat much less often but they also have a lot more babies at a time than we do. We almost always have one baby at a time, so I guess we need lots of chances to get pregnant to make lots of babies. But I don't want lots of babies! Damn modern society and very un-modern bodies.
