Finally, the Academy has recognized Peter Jackson's incredible passion and vision. About damn time.

I am however wildly disappointed in the failure to recognize Johnny Depp's brilliance.

Anyhow, I kicked Alan's ass 9-3 earlier, before we went out for a few drinks. The second round went 8-16 in Alan's favor. This game is so rocking.

I have little else to report except video game stats, but I will say it is a rare pleasure to be married and know I will never have to troll bars for a date. I've seen some rather desperate moves in bars lately, and it just makes me so glad I'm not that person. Instead I get to have a couple drinks and laugh with my husband, go home and just enjoy our life as it is.

In the end, it is a good life.

There was something I really liked about Jackson getting the Best Adapted Screenplay (along with his cowriters) from Francis Coppola; one visionary honoring another.

I'm glad Johnny Depp didn't win. He was incredible in Pirates, but when you hold it up to what Sean Penn and Bill Murray did this year, if Johnny Depp had won, it would have been a huge slap in the face to both of them. I'm disappointed that Bill Murray lost. We get to see Sean Penn play roles like that all of the time. Lost in Translation showed Murray's range and I really think he deserved it more.
