So we can't discuss politics in the Austin community, but people can make moronic posts like this because someone else posted about creating a local feminist community? I seriously wonder why I even bother. There are exactly four communities on my user info that I interact with other than the local group. Is it worth the near daily irritation?

The older I get, the more I despise so many people. It seems so unjust that the thoughtful and interesting people in the world are so often drowned out by the caterwauling of the vast hordes of idiots. I love the internet, honestly. I think it is one of the coolest things ever, because we can now interact with people we never would have known. I'm all about the global village. It is a shame there are so many village idiots.

Anyone who wants to be sheltered from life's harsher details, anyone who deliberately chooses ignorance over knowledge, and anyone who can't be bothered to think will be shipped into the sun when I become Supreme Ruler of the Galaxy.

It was indeed the most wankified post I've seen in a while (not counting ut_austin, of course)... At least it looks like someone had the good sense to delete it... Only after the ire was provoked by idiocy...

I haven't made it that far back in the weekend yet, but I'm looking forward to being equally annoyed (provided the thread still exists). Anyway, how might one become an advisor to the Supreme Ruler of the Galaxy? I'd really like to have input on who gets shipped to the sun. Or at least allow me to add to the list now. :D
