grocery shopping

Busy for a Saturday morning. The people at the auto care place were much nicer to me than the guy in the auto parts store. Silliness. But I got my oil changed, things replaced and all is hopefully well.

To make up for having to spend my time and cash on the car, I went to the HEB and bought groceries. (Professor P. tells me the Czechs love to visit the "cheb.") There is something unbelievable about a store with 5 kinds of oranges and 5 kinds of apples and all kinds of food. I shouldn't ever take that for granted. But anyways, I bought tons of fruit. The store has a special this week where if you buy a 5lb sack of red apples, you get a 4lb sack of oranges for free. Mmm. I bought lemons and strawberries too, milk, couscous, bread and peanut butter. Broke down and bought a candy bar at the checkout line. All those impulse buys really get to me. I suppose I'm very much an American consumer at heart.

I talked to Patrick last night, and he will be in town next week. It will be nice to see him, since he has been gone since November. I want to talk to him, and I'm afraid of talking. The communication is so frustrating sometimes, and I'm at a loss nowadays as to how to fix it. I'm hoping that next week will be good.

Since the sun is out and it's 77 degrees, I think I will go to the pool. I haven't gotten to swim in months. Mmm grilled pepper jack cheese sandwich, and an orange for lunch. What a lovely day.

running out to work...

(This month is, after all, National Social Work Month...)

I hope next week will be good, too. Hope I manage to catch my plane. ;)

Very much looking forward to seeing you again. And I'm glad you're finally getting to swim again.

Now, if I can only figure out what a "foon" is...

you don't know me, but i think warhol makes the lovliest friends

hi there.
i Love HEB. i miss it emmensely. i love grocery stores. and usually people who like them also are good sorts of people. therefore, from that and other things, i think you are pretty neat.

that just sounded a tad stalkerish or something. it's probably worse that i follow you and your fiance's story in your journal too. but ho-hum, i guess that is why people put there life's out on here right? well, i think that you should have lot's of happy thoughts about next week. visualize everything being great. remember the fundamental things you really love and it will all be fine. i haven't seen my dearest friend since november either; sigh, it does get hard. and communication does break down sometimes.. but i have optimistic thoughts for you, whatever that is worth.

Heh, you can't possibly be creepier than my Libertarian math geek stalker boy from many years ago. :P

Thanks, I am trying my best to be optimistic about the situation as well. i'm not sure what will happen. Hopefully things will work out for the best without much pain.

It took me all night to realize I had made that typo. Being unemployed is degrading my typing skills, not that they were too hot to begin with. Oh well, it;s fixed now. *sigh*

It's fun to swim, but it would be better if the water weren't so damn cold. I swear the pool was colder than Barton Springs today. A Chinese man in slacks, a dress shirt and a tie came by and stuck his hand in the water, and yelped at the temperature. He looked at me like I was crazy. Which isn't too wrong I suppose.
