You might try looking in the phone book -- some dentists who treat phobic patients advertise as such. Also, try calling the local dental colleges, since they probably have records of such things, and you might try an internet search -- I know that in fact there is an organization of dentists who specialize in treating phobic patients.
Last spring, I had three root canals done in under 24 hours, and while the pain was horrible before, and pretty dreadful after, and the work was difficult, I wasn't scared, and felt that I was treated with respect and compassion. The right professional does make all the difference.
