I've watched four movies since Sunday afternoon, and three of them were wretched. I couldn't even watch Van Helsing all the way through. We just gave up and watched the last two chapters. It had really neat special effects and the beginning was nifty, that is all. Blah.

Van Helsing! I've got so much love for it. *draws hearts*

I can't understand why everybody else hated it so...

Okay - beautiful looking movie, good story ideas. But such a terrible script I think, and so predictable in how each moment would be dragged out. Maybe I would like it more if we could dub it over in a language I don't know at all so I can ignore the dialogue. ;)

It is very nice to look at - I loved the color and the sets. But I just felt like the acting was a bit stale.

The funny thing is, it's all true! What you're saying about the script, and the predictability of it all. But I'm still so terribly fond of it. It's a bit like 'Underworld', I guess. 'Underworld'... I loved it to pieces. I must have seen it 20 times without getting tired of it. But do I think it's a great movie? Um... no. :)

Yeah. I love Underworld, because it just seems to tap some other thing in my head and I dig the creepy Budapest streets.

Whah, I miss Budapest; I haven't been there in ages. It's such a beautiful city; so unlike any other city. Even Prague.

I think one of the problems I'm having with 'Underworld' is the way it ends. Not that it's such an open ending, really. It's more the fact that it ends so stupidly. (And maybe that my favourite lycan dies such a gruesome death.)

Yeah, the end is so abrupt for me. I think the reason I loved Underworld so much was that the backstory was so well concieved and interesting.
