Into The West

I think the reason stories about the western expansion of America and the late 19th century are so captivating is the sense of limitless possibility. The world was expanding, and things were new.

What's going to make or break this series is how well the stories weave together.

It's too early to offer any sort of artistic criticism of this series, but my first impression is a good one. The writing is good, I think. Geoff Zanelli's soundtrack reminds me of Howard Shore and Lord of the Rings, with the woodwinds and the brass self consciously epic.

There are never too many stories about buffalo.

I've been really curious about the series. I hadn't even realized the first episode had aired yet. I'll have to catch it.
