Went to kerbey and ate cherry pancakes. Yum. Today I was prolific in a 1955 sort of way. I did my nails, baked sugar cookies and made a chocolate strawberry pie. Helped my mother empty the attic of old suitcases. Then I took a way too long afternoon nap. Yay.

This isn't too precise, I'm kind of slapdash about it. Get a pie crust. It can be the cookie crust kind, or you can bake a pastry one. (The Pillsbury refridgerated dough is good if you slather it in butter.)

In a heavy big sauce pan, pour about a pint of heavy cream. Add about 3/4 cup of strawberry jam or preserves. Make sure it's the real fruit stuff and not jelly. Stir that over low heat until the jam is melted and it just started bubbling up in a couple places.

Take a bag of semisweet chocolate chips (10-12 ounces of chocolate roughly) and dump that in the pan. Take it off the heat and whisk it until all the chocolate is melted and smooth. Then put the mix into the fridge for about an hour. Every 15 or 20 minutes, whisk it up good to work some air into it. When it's starting to thicken up, pour or scoop it over into you pie crust. Let that sit for another hour or two in the fridge and voila! Pie!
