maybe the gypsy was wrong

The clouds have vanished without a drop. Yesterday I saw a fighter jet pass low overhead, and today it was one of the big black helicopters. While they are interesting, they aren't rain clouds.
One of my coworkers lives in Williamson County and has had numerous problems with an aggressive pit bull next door. Last weekend, she was watering plants in her yard, and the dog jumped the fence. It came at her and chewed up her right arm. She need lots of stitches from the bites. The dog was unregistered and had no shots, and the owners refused to do the voluntary impound and blood test for rabies. My coworker ended up having to recieve rabies shots, adding a significant amount to her medical bills. Williamson county has refused to pick up the dog, and has been extremely rude and reluctant to do anything based on her previous complaints about the animal's aggressive and violent behavior. It's such crap, and she's scared to death she will be attacked again. We're under a freaking rabies quarantine, so I don't know why the hell those people weren't slapped with fines for violating that. I feel awful for her. She's lost some feeling in her hand, and had to miss days of work because of the injuries. Fortunately none of the bones were broken or crushed.
I absolutely loathe irresponsible pet owners. There's nothing wrong with having a pit bull at all. There is a huge problem when you don't get your animal shots, you don't control your animal, you don't provide adequate training and you keep a highly aggressive animal with the power to maim or kill others and don't do a damned thing to correct the problem. Fuck that shit.
Work has given me a headache. I just want to go home and lay on the floor with a pillow over my eyes. I'm thinking I may need new glasses. But then I should also go to the dentist, and it's a choice on where the money can go. I'm trying to save money for a vacation, and I'm worried I'll end up spending that on something ultimately necessary and that just makes me crazy. Someone else needs to manage my finances for awhile.

I'm sorry to put it this way...

Date: 2006-01-13 12:27 am (UTC)I'm an animal lover. But I really think a dog this aggressive who demonstrates repeated violent attacks should be put down.

Date: 2006-01-13 03:09 pm (UTC)I have known some very sweet pit bulls. It makes me mad as hell to see people who don't understand that taking care of a dog like that is different from caring for a chihuahua.
