My head aches. Trying to pull my life down into a few pages, a "personal essay" for a scholarship. I don't even know how much this is for. It's a complicated essay, wanting a dozen bullet pointed bits of information about my academic career, work outside of school, etc. Haven't had to write anything like this in ages it seems like. Maybe I have forgotten my double-speak. Hmm.
Reading Murakami's Hard Boiled Wonderland & The End Of The World again. My friend Mike was reading it not too long ago, and wants to write an article on American and Czech hard-boiled fiction. He's going to spend part of his time in Prague researching that I believe.
A package came from Canada today, bearing an Aero bar, a pen, a notebook, and a postcard of a timber wolf. Absolutely lovely. This package gang is quite fun. It reminds me that i need to make a list of addresses to take with me next week. God, I can't believe I'm leaving next weekend. Eek. The nervous anticipation will drive me insane. Time to start reviewing my case endings.

Don't forget to check out Prague's architecture as much as possible. And just mix around with the natives all the time. You're going to feel pretty stupid at first, 'cos you won't understand a thing in rapid speech. But after around a week of deep immersion, sounds sort of start trickling in.
Don't let the occassional xenophobe get you down. People are pretty friendly there towards foreigners in general, but there're always exceptions, just ignore those.
thanks for the encouragement :)
I do hope that immersion works its wonders, and that my Czech will improve. My speech is somewhat shy at the moment. I want to learn so much. I need to figure out the vocabulary for getting my haircut especially. :)
Thank you, it was good to see your message this morning. I need to drive my roommate to the airport now. (She's going to France for the summer) I don't know how I'm going to wait another week!!
