thank you, mr shatner

Sometime back I raved about the sheer genius of the William Shatner DVD club. Well my first DVDs arrived in the mail. Apparently, April is Lycanthrope month! So not only do I get the evil hilarity of Ginger Snaps, I also get the bonus feature ofWolves of Wall Street.

Goth kids and yuppie werewolves, what's not to love? I suspect a bad movie fest complete with snacks lies in my near future. Provided my jaw stops hurting. I've only taken one vicodin today, and I think I'm going to expire.

I quite liked Ginger Snaps and Giner Snaps Back (but not the third one).

GS was a great film which handled lycanthropy alongside the coming of age that all teens go through. SpFx were pretty crap, but the storytelling was great, and the acting wasn't half bad. I gave it 3 out of 5, which is "good, but not masterful".

GSB also got a 3 from me. Its strength lies in the fact that it moves on from the first film, rather than trying to recapture what the first film provided (which is where most sequels fail).

Never saw the Wolves of Wall Street, but I might have to check it out.

Actually, the second one was Ginger Snaps: Unleashed and it was pretty good.

Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning was the third one, and it sucked.

Ooo, I'm glad someone has seen this. I look forward to watching it.

Rock on. I'll be sure to post about the Wolves of Wall Street so we can all be thankful for Mr Shatner.
