WoWness

So awhile back I was talking about irritated I was with my WoW experience. Well it seems today that my guild is imploding. My best friend bailed, and didn't say a word to me about it. People are leaving right and left, most of the leadership has vanished and it's one big clusterfuck. Sigh. I don't know. I suppose I'll end up going where Tyler goes, because at least I know that I can game with him. There are a couple other people I've met in the guild who seem pretty cool and hopefully I'll be able to keep hanging out with them. I've started a character on Elune and joined a small, friendly guild.

Work has been uniquely frustrating this week. I should talk about that when I'm not at work. But I'm really glad I have tomorrow off because I need it.

Seems this sort of thing happens to all guilds at some point, sadly. I know it's hard. Good luck with the new guild, and know that you're always welcome with Daughters of the Horde on Bronzebeard!

Guilds

Yeah, many guilds die once the core group leaves or their interests change. Sometimes the guild merges with another, but it usually just breaks up. I've seen a few guilds collaspe when the officers wanted to join a large raiding guild.

I've always liked smaller guilds. My favorite guild, although not one in WoW, was a small guild that kept creating new characters that we would level together as a group or two. We did a little of the high end content of that game (Old EQ), but we weren't a raiding guild. Heh, i like the high end content in WoW, but it usually takes up too much time, and i knew if i got into a serious raiding guild in WoW that i could kiss my real life good bye lol. of course, it isn't really worth going into that now as when the new expansion comes out the equipment gain in those raids will be somewhat obsolete. i never really cared about that anyway, just to have fun, and some of the larger guilds lose sight of that.

just my 2 cents.

Our core group bailed instead of rebuilding, when we would have only needed about 5-10 people to keep going. They didn't want to slow their progression, so a few of them ran off to another guild. I and a few others were upset because we had been counting on them to help us get well geared and now we are screwed.
