Dinner tonight was Sarovar, tasty lamb korma and naan. So much spicy baby lamb goodness. I am a happy girl. Dessert was a glass og Guinness at the Draught House. Going there is so much nicer when the university is out, because the place is not packed with annoying college students. I love students, but these were just loud and obnoxious. Instead, just peaceful Austin folk.

My supervisor gave me a very nice bar of lavender sandalwood soap and a slatted soap tray. Yay soap! I was sad thinking that I would not get any soap for my birthday this year. My birthday is tomorrow and I'm thinking about having drinks on my porch. That sounds fun.

At work today a young mother called in half scared to death. From as best the agency and law enforcement can figure, two women pretended to be CPS workers and tried to kidnap this woman's child. When she asked for ID and called the cops they took off. Scary. So for the love of god people, if someone comes to take your kids make sure you ask to see their badge. Poor lady.

Yesterday I had a hostile bitchy caller who was under the impression that the big CPS shelter in Houston was some kind of summer camp. She wanted to know if she could just drop her son off. Seriously, why the fuck is this lady calling the abuse hotline? You have to go through the automated phone system so it's not like you don't know where you are calling.

And finally, my new theme song which is too funny for words. Thank you Harris, for that gem.

Maybe she SHOULD have dropped her kid off there, all things considered. Maybe she knew she was abusive? I dunno.

No, this woman seriously thought it was some kind of summer camp and got very upset when she was asked if she was abusing her kid. It really was rather hilarious.

Wow. Eek.

That's like this one person who called my parents thinking it was mattress discounters, listened all the way through their answering machine message saying that it was the home of ____ and ____, and then left a long message about how she wanted to know how big a queen size was vs. a king size.

I have to say I am in awe at what you do. I don't know if I could do it....so many feeling swirling around and you seem to manage to do such a good job. I am so impressed.

Ps Sarovar is very yummy.

It's a job, and I think it takes more crazy than sense to want to do it. But I love my work, all insanity aside.
