sangria attempt

I'm making sangria today, because I had a couple glasses of it at Fado the other weekend and it made me happy. We'll see how this turns out. I put cherries in it, because I love cherries. Sadly they have no stems. My fingers are wrinkled form slicing lemons and limes and oranges. Mmm tasty.
There is a terrible racket coming frm upstairs. I hope that it is not crazy new neighbors. I think actually it is maintenance replacing some appliances up there. Still, loud. The apartment next door has a new resident, but they can't bother us. I dread some heavy thumpig bastard moving in upstairs. Life has become so much more peaceful without someone above us.
Speaking of jerks, today was the last time I ever help someone in the grocery store. These two kids were running around, which is bad. You shouldn't have your kids running around like wild monkeys. The little girl fell down face first after tripping over my legs because I'm peaceably examing fruit. She smacked herself but good, and started screaming. I didn't see a parent anywhere, and no one else was even looking at the kid. I bent down to make sure she wasn't bleeding or anything. I may not be maternal and I may often be a bitch, but it is a bit much even for me to leave a crying five year old stranded in the middle of the produce section with no help in sight. So I lifted the girl up to make sure she hadn't knocked out a tooth or anything. After what felt like an eternity, the mother showed up. She swooped in and grabbed the kid without even looking at me. I tried to say something polite and the woman cursed at me in French! I was too dumbfounded to make any witty statement so I told her to go fuck herself in Russian. Then I went to find a bottle of wine for sangria making.
It's Belmont day, which makes me happy. I'm watching the races, drinking some gatorade and wondering how soon I can start drinking my sangria.
