Working, working, working. I'm pulling some long days so I can take Friday off. The newbies are almost ready to be kicked out of the nest. Most of the people I've worked with are ready. There's only one I've had who isn't quite getting it. She's too hesitant. It's that scared rabbit look and demeanor she has that instantly makes me hostile. She's too afraid of everything. You can't be or do that, it just doesn't work. Not at this job, not any job, not in life. If you're too afraid and too weak willed to make a decision of some kind, the world is going to chew you up and squish you.

It's not so bad out there, with a breeze blowing. Everything southeast is flooding and messy. I heard Houston had at least eight inches of rain in twenty four hours.

The grocery store was stupid crowded. But now I have toothpaste, potatoes, tortillas, bacon, cheese, steak, and other tasty things. We've decided we won't be going to Kerbey Lane as much in the future after a disasterous meal this weekend. If we send the home fries back as undercooked and raw, don't tell us "that's how we cook them." Raw potato chunks are not in any way cooked and they are not fun to eat. Sigh. So I guess more Magnolia in the future. Or just no eating potato at Kerbey.

i'm thinking i will make some sangria for my game night on wednesday night...
any tips?
(i'm thinking i want white, but i could be persuaded otherwise ...and i know, i know, white isn't REALLY sangria, but it sounds more refreshing right now- it's just SO hot!)

White wine sangria is awesome. With cherries and strawberries! Maybe even peaches. Anyway, I highly recommend using 7-Up instead of club soda to add a bit of fizz and sweetness. Add it at the last moment and stir. It's so much better that way.

We were actually at the far north Kerbey, strangely. In the past two months, I've noticed a serious decline in service and quality there. I wish I knew why!

Agreed about campus - it's always a pain.

Kerbey sucks. Kerbey has always sucked. Even their iced tea sucks.

I think their potatoes have always been like that. I remember going with a friend probably 6-7 years ago and she would order them "overcooked to the point of being burnt" and get them just right.
