It's been a quiet day at work, so I've been shopping for plane tickets in my downtime. It seems most all the prices are about the same. Alas, Jet Blue has nothing affordable for me. Has anyone used Priceline's Name Your Own Price successfully? It's tempting. The site says it should give you results in 60 seconds. But does it just check at that time? Or does it keep checking until it finds you a ticket? I'm tempted by it, but I don't want to accidentally end up purchasing more than one ticket on the interweb. I've checked Cheap Tickets, Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz and Hotwire. If anyone has any other recommendations, I'd love to hear them. It's been too long since I had a nice plane trip.

Everyone seems to be in a state of flux lately. I wonder what it is in the general fabric of the universe that has caused all this.

I had a child death call today that was sad and creepy. There were a lot of them today.

I'm contemplating a pie crust made of tiny bits of nuts, sugar and butter. I've made something similar in the past as a crust for a fudge like treat. I need to practice. My baking skills have been idle for too many months.

In order to deal with all my pent up tension, frustration and general sloth, I've started doing a cardio workout in addition to my small set of yoga moves. I bought this DVD because everything's divided into actual chapters on the DVD, making it easier to coordinate how long I want to be doing this. It's fast though. I can't pick up dance steps that fast. I have to keep pausing and going back. But it's fun at least. That's all I ask for my suffering with overly perky instructors.

It is time to go home. Yay home.

www.mobissimo.com checks out ALL the sites online, even the airline's own sites. You don't have to buy through them, they just link you to the site where you do buy it. They're like a list of all the sites in one, easy to see place.
Good luck!

hahaha, I just saw the video, I have the same one and I can't do the dances yet. I've learned that I have two left feet and it's just going to be that way for a while. The videos I love to work out with are 10 Minute Solutions, Pilates and MTV's Pilate's Mix, which is super tough and super hard and so nice when you can get through it.

Awesome thanks. And how funny is it that we have the same doofy workout tape?

I used to use priceline for airfare a lot, but that was a couple years ago (when I still flew out of the US rather than Mexico, it doesn't handle international departures). The deal with priceline is that you get to pick the dates you are flying, but have no control over the flight times (i.e., you could leave at 6AM). So long as you are good with that, you can get some really great deals. My advice is to look online to get a sense of the going rate, and then underbid it. If the lowest airare you see is for $400, I'd bie $325 or so on priceline. You want to balance getting a deal with the likelihood that your price will be accepted -- I don't think you get tons of chances unless you are flying to or from an area with multiple possible airports to choose from or your dates are flexible (you have to change something every time you re-bid). Once you bid, you get an answer pretty fast about whether you bought the ticket or not (if your bid is accepted, you must buy the ticket, so do be careful). I think this used to take about 10-15 minutes. So don't bid twice until you hear for sure that your bid was not accepted. If you still have questions, feel free to ask me. But I'm in favor of priceline! Good luck!!!!

Yeah. And even if they don't accept your offer they might give you a counteroffer, which you can accept or reject. That's what I did the one time I used Priceline.
