Work is mad, though I'm told it isn't nearly as awful as it was yesterday. I spent the better part of my shift walking the floor in circles, octagons, parabolas, whatever, to keep an eye out for people having trouble with their phones. I even managed to fix some problems. My feet hurt now though, though I suppose I should just be glad for the exercise. The supervisors by and large appear harried. It's completely understandable but not cool when they take it out on the workers.

My new desk is an honest to god cubicle. Shocking. I need to bring in my calendar, and some things to relieve the blank grey space of the walls. On the bright side, the walls are high, there's more room and the office has nice indirect lighting which means I no longer have to court bad luck by precariously balancing a giant beach umbrella on my monitor as I have been for the past eighteen months. Joy!

Kirby gave me a beautiful green velvet gown. It is a handmade affair and quite nicely done. I've supressed the urge to run into the bathroom and try it on all day long. I want to take it to Phoenix Rising with me, so just now I flung it over my head at my cubicle. A passing coworker did a double take, and the astounded expression was so worth it. Fantastic!

Soon it will be time to go home and watch House.

Eeeeee.

And vacations are lovely, lovely things. I am counting the seconds until mine.

Which will also involve job hunting as we travel around CA, which. Since we are considering moving and I'm so friggin tired of how expensive it is in LA....

Does where you work have a web site with job openings etc? Because while Dave isn't thrilled Texas is one of the states he'd at least consider.

I'm still holding my breath to get him out of LA, which I hate.

So what's the gown like, apart from green velvet? *Ignores implied slur on 'finish' of handmade garments*

I like Vacations, vacations are Good, & so are Holidays! Ours in 2 1/2 weeks (& counting).

Have a great time.

It has an almost sweetheart neckline, with long sleeves, and quite a train. Seriously lots of train. I think when I have it taken in to fit me more in the shoulders, I'll see about getting some way to pin that train up the way I did with my wedding dress. It looks well constructed, and has a green satin lining as well. It is heavy! I have to work to get it back over my head.

Sounds amazing. Very Medaeival. Also sounds like it might benefit from the insertion of a very unMedaeival zip fastener!
