Hmmm, dilemma. Special education is Useful, high school is a lot of lippy teenagers (even with the interesting debates) & paperwork.
Over here it also involves a lot of 'crowd control' rather than actual 'education' - which could be why up to a third of British school leavers (at 16-18) are reckoned to be functionally illiterate! I don't think that many kids have "learning difficulties", well, not beyond they have never learned to sit down, be quiet & LISTEN for once anyhow! But it's many many years since I've had contact with Education - & that was when our two were in school.
