Mmm raspberries in cake batter. A better dinner could not be had. Well, I'll eat the leftover enchiladas too. But yum. I'm trying out a new recipe, making little cupcakes with raspberries, and dark chocolate centers. I hope they come out well. Cupcakes seem to work better in my wonky oven, and with molten chocolate center I worry less about not quite getting the center done. Brilliant.

The schools are back in session. Over the summer I forgot how truly awful so many school counselors are, and how utterly useless they are. I swear I've talked to better educated and more coherent people with in truck stop gas stations.

Project Runway last night was interesting. I totally loved the challenge of designing for real people, and having it be their mothers. It was grimly amusing to see some of the people running around saying "Oh my god I don't understand proportions on a body this size!" I completely and utterly disagreed with the win however. Lord. I also did not know that Bravo auctions off these outfits. How cool is that. I wish I was superskinny so I could buy some of Laura's beautiful clothes. I loved that jacket witht he fur trim she did.

And those of us that actually try to DO things in the schools, the school districts push out. Sigh.

Oh lord, and how the schools seem to hate having effective employees!

I still think you should leave boring old California behind and move to Texas! :D

Dude.

[eyes your job]

If they're hiring, or do routinely? Given the lack of prospects I have here....

And my hatred of LA? Which-is holding out on postcards! I might just mail your thing without LA postcards.

And I bet we could even get a house, not a tiny ass Condo, even if we had to live a tetch outside town.

for the amount you spent on your condo there, you could get a swell house in town here.

I don't know Austin, and on realtor.com they listed houses that we could afford the difference we'd make on selling this vs what it would go for now, even though we have most of the mortgague to go and. [pets the houses] I pointed this out to my idiot husband.

That might not have been English but it made sense in my head. Tiny mortgage payments! TINY! Especially since we pay like 1400 now.

Man if you had a $1400 mortgage payment here you could have a pretty sweet house.

Raspberry & chocolate muffins, mmmmm! Good trick that, with the chocolate centres.

& school "Counsellors" - probably trying to get it done on the cheap (cos the schools are underfunded)& with people who won't rock the "school community" boat?

Put in half your batter into your muffin cup, then put a chunk of chocolate, or even a chocolate candy into the middle. Cover with batter. Amazing idea, I'm glad I found it today.

The school systems are chronically funded in the most bysantine ways possible, they pay next to nothing, the entire system is chaotic and no one is held accountable.

I thought Vincent's dress was super ugly and boring and made Uli's mom look bulgy. However, I thought Uli did a beautiful job, especially given the fact that she was working with a plus sized woman. Her outfit fit Kayne's mother beautifully and was very flattering. She should have won.

Plus, she's not batshit crazy like Vincent.

Exactly. Uli and her wacky prints for the win! I think Uli is a strong contender for the top three.

Vincent freaks me out.

I heart Project Runway. I got Jim interested in the show, too, even though he may not admit his love of fashion crazy people. I thought it was horrible that they didn't understand how to make "regular" clothing. WTF? So that's why I could never find anything to wear at stores. I'm not a size 2.
:)
Uli and Micheal are my favorites for the win.

I really like Uli and Michael. Laura is my other big favorite because she's just so wacky and wonderful and everything she makes is so crisp.
