Around midnight the upstairs neighbors had a party going on. I could hear the music, and lots of talking. After being grumbly about the disturbance of my peace (it was LOUD) and then sitting around smoking for another hour I talked myself into doing something really crazy that six years ago I wouldn't have even contemplated. I was lonely, and bored at the time.

So I went upstairs with a drink in my hand and crashed their party.

When I knocked on the door, my neighbor was extremely apologetic about the noise. I could also tell he was pretty toasty. He seemed bemused and then enthusiastic to invite me in. So I met some random people who seem nice, and stayed up til 4am talking and smoking. All in all, I think it was a good plan.

Go you! That's MUCH better than what I used to do when my neighbors had loud parties - i.e. sit and get madder and madder until I was ready to scream.
