I think one of the reasons I like autumn best of seasons is the sky. In autumn, you can watch the cold fornts scour the sky, and the clouds form a knife edged line. I wish it would rain already, as the humidity is killer. I received a package of yarn from Erin, and this weekend I'm going to buy some needles. We'll see if knitting works as vocational therapy. The yarn is very soft! Thank you.
The children had healed and partially healed fractures and bite marks and appeared malnourished, according to court records. One of the 2yo twins had eight to 10 healed fractures to her ribs and two broken femurs. She had so many bite marks on her body — both from children and adults —that investigators were unable to count them. The kids involved were 2yo twins and a 3yo. These are some people who need to go straight to hell, do not pass go. The mug shots are up on all the local news. Neither one of them looks malnourished, and neither one of them looks the least bit sorry. Fuckers.

What kind of sick, twisted mind thinks that's okay?

In other news, glad you like the yarn! Good luck, and feel free to ask questions as needed. :)

It definitely calms and relaxes me - especially if it's an easily repeatable/ easy to remember pattern because then I can watch TV or talk to someone. If you want to get together at a coffee shop over the weekend at any time just let me know.

Do you know if they let dogs on the porch?
[1] Via the new Goodwill at Lamar and 2222. I Rocked the place getting 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of loose pants, 3 tops, 1 amazing Scandinavian wool sweater that someone is going to get as a holiday present since I can't wear wool without it being well lined but it was in brand new condition and usually goes for at least $100 and was $5.99. 1 long red A line jersey long sleeve dress that will be suitable and warm for Thanksgiving in plus 1 lined sport length wool Old Navy coat for $9.99 in great condition to wear in Lexington Ky. This is important since I got rid of all of my winter clothes when I moved here from Boston and the few coats for COLD weather don't fit right now because of all the wine.

I hope the knitting goes well for you. I just picked up some lovely yarn that I hope will brighten my winter.

but have any of you ever had charge of babies & small children? Full-time?
Cos, having had two myself (& we all survived) I can empathise, somewhat, with parents who are at least tempted to bad behaviour.
Not that actually behaving like that is excusable, even with the whinyiest, most annoyingly-pitched yelling baby.
Enjoy the knitting. I find it great therapy.

I was merely wondering in print (aloud not being an option here) how many of those coming down sohard in their condemnation of the parents in yr article had actually had personal experience of small children of their own. NOT implying that anyone was short of sympathy.
As I wrote - I DON'T condone the behaviour (of the parents) but, having raised two of our own, DO understand how some of the impulses may arise.
Difference. Mainly between British & American use of language? ;)

I don't think it would be productive to have any more of these exhanges.
