more windshield stories

So, I needed to have my expensive Saturn windshield replaced. It made me very sad to think about the money I was going to drop on that. I sat around for almost two hours this morning, waiting. During that time I was harrased by a creepy man who left a manilla folder full of rantings about God. Yeah, fun. Anyway, when all was done and I went to pay, they said "Come outside first, there is a problem." Yeah, great I'm thinking. Turns out when they removed a side panel to slide out the old windshield, they cause some damage to it. Cosmetic damage really, nothing serious or horrifying. Certainly not any more upsetting than the two scratches other people have already inflicted on my car. But, they clearly felt bad and so my windshield was free.

I have stopped worrying about scratches, which surprises me that I can do that, but back to the point, they happen so you should just accept that.

I don't plan on buying another car until I get a place with a garage.

I need to get mine fixed but I'm afraid it will get the huge dent etc from a zillion years ago reported to my insurance company since. Um. I never reported that.
