child's play
Bless the black little hearts of the guys at Penny Arcade. A post on my friends list today reminded me of Child's Play, the charity they started to provide video games and toys to kids in hospitals. (These guys are awesome, and this charity has zero overhead so all the money goes straight to the kids.) They've expanded enormously since that first year, and I saw they had wish lists for both Texas Children's and the hospital in Dallas. So there I am, shopping along and picking out all kinds of stuff.
They have My Little Ponies DVDs on the wish list for Texas Children's. I'm looking at them, and I find this one with the most hilarious review:

We shut this show off within the 1st 10-15 minutes. Wow. First of all there are witches. Then the ponies have pyramids with "all-seeing" eyes on them where they live. Then they start a celebration where the sun shines through the clouds, shines on a jewel in the middle of the pyramids (kind of like a stonehenge ritual?), start singing a "nature worship/loving" song. Then the head witch looks at pictures of her ancestors on the walls that are long since deceased and asks them to come back and help her, they started coming back to life and stepping out of their paintings. This is where we shut it off and said NO MORE!
Oh my stars, I laughed so hard I cried. My coworkers must think I've cracked. And now, I leave you because I have to go buy satanic nature worshipping videos for the kids at Texas Children's Hospital. Bwahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if these are the same people who couldn't figure out why their kids were vanishing into their rooms for hours on end with the vibrating Harry Potter broom toys.
