I hear the sounds outside

Sunlight comes down, gold-white and the sky is blue over my head while I walk down the street. If I step just right, my feet land exactly in the middle of the cobblestones. I'm sitting at computer #5, so I can see out the open door where the traffic rushes by and the trams surge on electric lines. The air is cool and bright, the radio softly playing beside me.
I have a list of people to send postcards to now, all over the States. Before my afternoon class with Jiri, I think I'll walk down to the Castle and look around. Jiri is one of my favorite teachers at Charles. He smiles almost constantly, wrote a dictionary and takes such delight in explaining odd linguistic points to us. Jiri has a great voice, and I would go to class just to listen to him. We have a second Czech language teacher, Jitka. She is apparently the best teacher in the country, and fiercely sought after. Having her teach for the UT program is a major accomplishment.
I bought a shirt at Kenvelo yesterday, sought of a Czech version of the Gap or something. It was easier to buy a new shirt than do laundry yesterday.
Last night I slept for a long time. The nightmares didn't stay after I woke, so I couldn't tell you why I woke sweating and gasping. I don't really like sharing a room, especially with someone that I don't know well. I crave privacy like nothing else. Maybe I'll check into a hotel for the weekend.
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.

I'm glad you're enjoying my scatterbrained posts. Virtual vacation courtesy of Internet U Keplera. :D
