It's never good when I find myself staring at everything new that the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab has put up and wishing I could buy almost everything. There are several new scents in Carnaval Diabolique that I find compelling.

The Snake Pit scents:
Cottonmouth - Snake Oil with linden blossom, calla lily, passion flower, and narcissus.

Western Diamondback - Snake Oil with leather, tonka bean, red sandalwood, and sage.

Zarita the Doll Girl - Soft, yet sociopathic: white carnation, iris, orange blossom, and sugared cream.

In other news I played cards today (and lost) while catching up with Sam and Justin. We froze for awhile on the patio of a coffee shop, and then came home. I've been playing one video game or another all day. I took a two hour nap this morning. I watched Blade Runner and the Rose Parade this morning. (Stormtroopers! With an Imperial marching band! Mwuhahahahaha.)

God, even if the scents smelled like utter crap, I'd want them for descriptions like "Soft, yet sociopathic."

I am feeling SO relieved that relatively few scents are speaking to me...ok, my wallet is feeling so relieved. But Zarita is one of them.

And now I'm truly afraid to try Snake Oil again, in case it grows on me to the point that I must dive into the Snake Pit.

Oddly enough in all my years of BPAL love, I have never tried Snake Oil. I've heard it is delicious and I smell good in vanilla.

I tried it at a meet & sniff last fall, and my notes only say "sweet, dusky, musky" and 3/5. I wonder if it was too much musk for me, which is the norm for me and dark musks. Now that I've gotten into Possets and things like Pomona and Madame X, I may have to try Snake Oil again...

I like musk only sometimes, and usually not too much of it. Hmmm. I need to hunt some of this down.
