threeplusfireAh the joy of film class. We watched some excellent student films done by the directors of the Czech New Wave. Very neat stuff. Very wacky. Also the incredible opening sequence from Diamonds of the Night, the most beautiful and difficult shot in Czech cinema history.
Wandered around in some shops today looking at crystal. I want to buy some thick glasses, just a couple perhaps. Jean has some nifty cool wine glasses for his father, quite lovely pieces. Oh, sometimes I feel so bad about my material urges. I just like to have beautiful things around, something to enjoy.
Got a tiny blue bottle with a cat on it. Also another dozen bars of soap, gifts for friends at home. Czech soap seems like a cool gift to me. I sure hope it does to other people.
Jean and I ate in a fabulous little Chinese place near Namesti Republiky that had real hot and sour soup. I'm so excited I already want to go back.
Tomorrow will be killer, since I have almost five hours of language class in the morning and afternoon. Eek. My head aches in anticipation.

I got some pretty blue things for my family when I was in the Czech Republic. Those little bottles with gold trim. So cheap, too. It's amazing.
