One of the things I like most about riding the Metro in Prague is the wind that heralds the train's approach. I am not sure quite why or how that works, but it's cool.

Walking through this little market street near Vaclavske Namesti, I saw several stand with puppets. I finally found an excellent vodnik puppet. One that is both creepy and well made, and about a third of what some stores tried to charge me yesterday for inferior vodnik puppets. I am quite pleased, and I hope that Deb likes it too. It's going to be used in a film.

Also picked up some cds for myself. Jako Zamlada by Olympic. Jiri tells me they are a great Czech rock band, and this album has the song he sang to the class yesterday. I can't wait to hear more. Goth Oddity: A Tribute to David Bowie from Cleopatra Records. It has Gene Loves Jezebel, Mission UK, Alien Sex Fiend and several more that I'm interested in hearing. I saw a lot of Cleopatra Records albums that I wanted to listen to. Depeche Mode: The Singles 86-98. I was also tempted by the new album, but I can find that at home easily.

Tonight we're having a party. Sort of end of classes and end of trip party. On a boat. Go figure. I'm helping Leigh buy snacks and liquor later.

The reason the wind blows right before a subway comes is that air gets trapped in the tunnel and is pushed out be the oncoming tram. It's kind of a creepy feeling to me, one minute the air is still and quiet and the next there is a breeze blowing through your hair.

Wow! Neato, thanks for telling me that. :D I love public transportation, especially metros. They're just so nifty, and economical and wonderful.

Czech fairy tales are strange. I like them. Lots of dark and scary stories to keep the kids out of trouble. ;)
