So, I've never made a baba before. I think next time I'll make the apple baba. It went alright until the kneading, because I did not put enough flour down for the sticky soft dough. Very, very messy. I really need more counter space. I really need granite counters of cold goodness, or something like that. It worked out though, and the dough rose appropriately. I put it in the overn about fifteen minutes ago, so we will see. I picked up a bottle of Pyrat rum to make the glaze with, because that particular rum has a sweet, almost vanilla caramel flavor. I love it.
The tiny tea cakes came out, though the recipe is woefully small. I had to double to get a dozen. Because the store didn't have almond paste, I put in hazelnuts and almond extract. The batter tasted pretty good, so I have hopes for the cakes themselves.
I should go scrape off some of the flour and sugar I'm covered in before Mike gets here. I am a mess!
