Last night we saw the new pirate movie. Before the show, there was a pirate rock band. Imagine David Lee Roth and AC/DC running off to become pirates and you have these guys. I was pleasantly surprised to hear they were accomplished musicians. Clearly they love what they do, and how can you not love a pirate rock band covering a Beastie Boys song?



Oh why, why did Norrington die? I am so sad about that, and it seemed like such a crappy way to go.

Keith Richards, regardless of your age and general creepiness, I love you.

I am glad it wasn't a "everything works out perfect" ending, quite honestly. Will and Elizabeth had so little chemistry, but I will say the kiss on the ship was very nice in that "shit we're going to die, let's make out first" kind of way you imagine you might do if the world was ending. Okay, I imagine I might do if the world was ending.

Seriously though, why was every pirate surprised when no one honored the bargains? Hello, pirates! Also Will, you are not conniving enough to be an evil pirate.

I was so bummed. And though the hot factor of Elizabeth as Pirate King with her cool hat was high, it could not make up for the death of Norrington. Oh sigh.

They really did set it up for a sequel, eh?
