tokyo stomp

I've gotten myself an unpaid writing job, but it will be fun. I want this to be the first of many small steps to spending more time writing, and maybe even a step towards a life where I do more writing than working in the office for the government. But I jump ahead very far, often in my head.

I was late to work, and then late coming back to lunch because I was trapped in the Luby's drive through line. They were out of macaroni! I told the girl I didn't mind waiting inside then extra ten minutes. After all, macaroni is more important than what the time boss thinks of my odd sign in and out times today.

Also today my package of new BPAL perfumes arrived today. My favorite is Tokyo Stomp, which is crisp and not too sweet vanilla mint. I'm on the fencing about the Ventriloquist Dummy scent, as the patchouli overwhelms my nose. They also included samples of Bliss, The apothecary, The Jersey Devil and Oblivion. The last one is a deep green and doesn't smell at all like the things listed in the description. Very puzzling. I am sort of thinking my nose is just broken, or that quitting smoking messed up my previous scent associations. I posted a swapping link on the forum, but if any of my LJ friends wants to swap for one of the other Monster Bait scents, I'd be glad to send the Ventriloquist your way.

It's so weird that when I smelled that, I didn't get any patchouli- it just smelled like ginger snap cookies. Maybe all the black tar heroin broke my nose instead.

None of these things are what I would imagine a ventriloquist dummy smells like, anyway. I would think sawdust and sweaty, maybe slightly boozy carny. Of course, then I would probably be less likely to buy that.

You go girl
