Shoot 'Em Up with Clive Owen, Paul Giamatti and Monica Bellucci. Here are ten reasons why this is possibly the greatest film I've seen all year long:
1. There's a sky diving gun fight. Seriously.
2. Clive Owen is trying to save a baby. This is no coincidence people.
3. Bad rich drivers get punished by having their cars stolen and run off the road.
4. There are more guns than you could possibly imagine.
5. Everyone, gun industry and government, are jack asses out to screw you.
6. Clive Owen and Monica Bellucci have sex while shooting people. Seriously!
7. The cracked out car chase scene and the message to NOT wear your seatbelt.
8. People get stabbed in the head with carrots. A lot. SERIOUSLY!
9. Clive Owen hates dirty hippies too!
10. "A bullet proof vest is a better investment than a crib."
I LOVE THIS MOVIE.
Also I saw a preview for what may be one of the greatest things I could imagine. The Coen brothers have made a film of Cormac McCarthy's No Country for Old Men. It looked superbly creepy and strange. If you haven't read the novel, it is one of the most violent and fucked up pieces of modern American westerns ever written. I may not like McCarthy's writing style but he tells some wicked stories. There was also a preview for 30 Days of Night, a creepy looking vampire movie. Yay for scary vampire movies.
