Chartes
I forgot to note yesterday that I recieved not one but two postcards from the ever delightful Miss Kira. Through some twist of luck, she happened to send me postcards from one of my favorite places in France, Chartes. The cathedral there has some of the most beautiful stained glass around. It's so gorgeous, so amazing. It made me happy to read that she enjoyed her trip so much, that she sneaked off to explore on her own and enjoyed France as much as I enjoyed the Czech Republic.
In other news, my sleep schedule is totally off these days. I have got to stop staying up til six in the morning. But I hung out at Metro last night, playing mah-johngg and cards, drinking coffee and then we went to Einsteins to play video games. I drove Bob's Mustang home. There was something so amusing about driving this big American sports car, listening to my Russian trance cd and shouting over the wind to Bob that I wound up driving all over northern Austin. The extremely scenic way home. I felt very American and very silly. Had a lot of fun though.
I think it is time to soak in the tub for a few hours. It's 92 outside, according to the Weatherbug. Which is cooler than it was at 8pm last night. Eeek.

chartres was indeed amazing. especially the little sculpture gardens in the back where you can look over the roofs of the town. i bought le petit prince postcards in a shop across from the cathedral. *sigh* takes me back...
