drive time

More and more I think Samstown is the album about growing up, at least for me. I listen to it in the car, and for whatever reason the songs highlight the shift in my life over the past year and a half. I feel older but not in any sad way necessarily.

This morning I contemplated skipping my exit and just driving on down the road, maybe to Houston to see Melynda. Maybe just as far as Ellinger for kolaches. I haven't felt that way in awhile, and I used to just associate it with the longing to start over somewhere else and being depressed. Maybe it is just the autumn light.
