Today we have our unit meeting, which I was the only person who actually knew about as my supervisor declined to tell anyone last week. Haha. But at least one of my coworkers convinced them to have the meeting off-site. So instead of being crammed in an uncomfortable and too small room we can at least sit around a table at TGI Fridays and hide behind our food. If only I could order cocktails during this time.

My fellow peer trainers and I have compiled ideas and notes for things to discuss during this meeting. Our primary issue being the one of compensation. If we're going to be expected to do half of the trainer's job, then we should be paid a little bit more than as the "ordinary" intake workers we're classified. We have supervisor level responsibilities for some things, and many more responsibilities than if we just took intakes as we have in the past. I don't think it is beyond reason to ask for a small raise.

We also need a basic structure. My boss works by only focusing one day at a time, and this does not work at all with others involved. No one ever knows what is going on and communication is haphazard at best. We've come up with ways we can keep a handle on things even in the absence of supervisors.

(I also spent my morning coming up with yet more fun and exciting training documents. Well, fun and exciting only in the sense that they are useful and we don't have anything like them currently, and I like to write things.)

Over the weekend I obtained a copy of the cookbook Sherrie loaned me, so I can finally give hers back. I'm going to embark on sponge cake experiments soon I hope. I'm thinking of taking most of the week off to clean the apartment, as we've been very lax about it lately. The roomba needs a new filter but Frys doesn't carry them for some absurd reason.

Remember how I've kinda sorta sworn off most desserts? Well apparently bittersweet chocolate is the new fad this year; lots of recipes in all the seasonal baking magazines I got (I get them for the cookies, mainly). I can actually eat bittersweet chocolate. Yay!

Let me know if you want to do lunch on a day off. =) Which is, btw, completely unrelated to when I might get that book back... I'm still not looking to bake anything from it anytime soon.

Are you free Wednesday or Thursday? I was thinking it would indeed be a good chance for lunch!

Mmm seasonal baking. I love it. I've been so out of sorts lately that I've not made any desserts. But I feel a bit more settled, so I want to bake.

Thursday would be better than Wednesday. Dot's going to the vet for an ultrasound Wed to be sure her bladder is really okay, and they said I can probably pick her up around lunchtime.

Thursday is good! Do you have any particular food cravings? I am always up for tasty Asian foods, or anything really.

Let me get back to you after tomorrow... going with Ed to the restaurant supply store over on Lamar in search of an 8" springform pan for that bittersweet chocolate cheesecake, and I imagine we'll probably do lunch somewhere or other.

Went to Korea House today, but I had beef bulgogi again. If you feel like helping me order sushi I could be willing to go again. =) Or, anything else would be fine too. I'm not feeling fussy.

I am always, always up for sushi. In fact, I think sushi is extremely necessary at this point. Quick doctor, the patient is going into ennui! Give me four pieces of toro, stat! :P

Just looking at a plate of pretty, pretty sushi makes me happier... and I probably wouldn't even eat half of what was on your sushi plate last time. =)

There will also, if I haven't screwed it up, be bittersweet chocolate cheesecake to take home for dessert. It looks good so far, but I haven't actually cut into it yet.

You must tell me of the creation of cheesecake. I've never actually tried. Mike loves it though, so I feel as if I must attempt it.

I always feel insanely gluttonous at sushi places. It's so beautiful! So tasty! I want to eat them all! Hahah.

Tell your boss to post peer training hirings soon! I'd rather be over there kind of miserable than over here miserable.
