neighbors

I love the way my neighbors blankly stare at me. They clearly understand English, but they refuse to speak it. I (very politely) asked them to please get their children to stop screaming directly my living room window. Their children have been screaming outside my window since about 9:30am, off and on all day long. I'm sitting here playing WoW, with my headphones on so I have both the WoW sound and and Ventrilo going. I can hear their avian, piercing shrieks over my headphones.

Yes, kids in an apartment complex need a place to play. Yes, it sucks they don't have a yard. But there's a park nearby they could take these kids to play at, one that is not directly outside my home. If they are going to play here, I don't think it is unreasonable to hope they don't scream constantly. And by constantly I mean shrieking every five seconds for five minutes straight, bashing their tricycle into the steps of my apartment, and repeating.

My neighbors, I have some sympathy. There are three or four adults as well as at least five children living in a two bedroom apartment. The woman does not work. I haven't quite figured out what the men do when they are gone. Aside from have stupid mullets and drink a lot of Bud Light. I don't care if they are legal or not, so long as they don't make my life difficult.

It's been a lazy day. I've watched some Sopranos, played some games, done some writing, made a grocery list, read a cookbook and avoided doing any chores other than turning on the Roomba. Hah. Real work comes tomorrow.

Welcome to my world. The in-home daycare nextdoor is a never-ending source of piercing shrieks, with the added joy of barking dogs.

I was going to tell a neighbor story here, but I think I'll go make an actual post of it.

i hear you about the neighbors; I hated apartment life.

One of my apartment neighbors had a cat they would let out. The cat would be confused and come to my door, and when I would guide it to theirs they would get mad. They thought I was trying to tell them how to care for their cat, or spy on them, or something.

It got so I just stopped trying and just played with the cat when it came to my door. Somehow that did not help them trust me. At least the cat was cute.

I am done with apartment living after this, I don't care what I have to do, I am not living in one again.
