Put whatever you want into it based on what you want to develop and create. If that involves twins, twin headed monsters, or twin plots that come back and bite the reader in the ass in the last chapter :)
I can't comment on whether or not to put the twins in your novel because I'm not familiar with what your novel is or what your particular twins are like. I have this feeling I should really know this but don't....help! I want to understand and know!
My grandmother had two sets of fraternal twins. No one in the family has had twins since (actually, not true - one set of preemie twins who didn't make it in the 70s), so I am convinced I am DOOMED to have twins. At least one set.
