I saw a clip on the news where Hilary Clinton was talking about how she didn't understand Obama's "phenomenon" and how it was all about his charisma. It's been bothering me for hours and hours as I chewed that over. Then I understood what made her shrugs and statements ring so false and odd - isn't that exactly what Bill Clinton had? The charisma, the dream, the talk of unity?

Also- being married to a politician is edifying. BUT JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE MARRIED TO A PRESIDENT DOES NOT MAKE YOU QUALIFIED TO BE THE DAMNED PRESIDENT AND SHUT UP ABOUT HOW YOU HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE BECAUSE YOUR RIDICULOUS LOGIC IS MAKING MY HEAD HURT. Ahem. Sorry.

For the past few days I've stayed at my grandparent's house in Magnolia. My grandmother is still in the hospital, though now in the rehab wing. She's getting physical therapy which she hates. My mother says she looks much better. Things have been hard, all around I think. Tomorrow I have to drive my mother back to Austin. We both miss our cats.

You bring up a really good point. Here is why I am cautious about Ms. Clinton: her health plan would mandate health care. In California, auto insurance is required by law. And guess what? All the emphasis is on affordability, not on quality. And these affordable policies? They cover so little that, logically, you might as well not have any insurance at all, yet you've gotta shell out the few hundred bucks a year anyway or your registration is revoked.

This approach is simply ineffectual in my view and experience, and I get really nervous when it is proposed for health care.
