I woke up at half past two, scratching at my head. A shower didn't put things to rights, so I came down stairs to play games and read. At 5am, I went to Whataburger, because they make pretty decent fastfood biscuits. In the early dark, the air was thick, verdant and heavy. I could see lightning sweep through the clouds. I went to bed around six.

After getting up in the morning and accomplishing little but reading government documents for a paper I'm writing, I went back to bed. I slept through odd dreams of swimming giraffes and living in odd places, taking rm to see the Rio Grande. When I woke at 3pm, I felt better than I have in days. I think the rain helped. The air outside was still green, but light and evervescent with spring flowers. I saw my first bluebonnets on 360 while I ran errands.

My mail was overflowing today with odds and ends, including Mike's tax refund check of one dollar and some change. My monthly earring club package arrived - dangling green & yellow crackle glass balls that instantly reminded me of ginger ale. Ginger ale earrings it is, and perfect for today. Another happy treat was a package from marz that was full of wonderful smelling scents. She has spoiled me rotten. I'm wearing Fetish right now, and it is citrusy goodness.

Koshka has claimed my blue bathrobe. I had to take off the other day when I got up from the sofa, as he was sleeping on the end and I didn't want to disturb him. Since then, he has spent the majority of his sleeping time curled up on the robe. He likes soft things. Yesterday he slept on my knee for a long while, warm and happy kitty.
