poor kitty bean

Koshka is home, groggy still from all the medicines. Poor kitty. Dr. Pittman sent us home with all kinds of pain medicine, tooth brush, kitty tooth paste, mouth wash, tooth cleaning treats, fancy food for upset stomachs and pictures of the inside of his mouth. When we made it inside, he went straight for his food bowl and now he is sitting on the sofa.
I'm so full of guilt - for the cat being sick, for spending a huge chunk of our savings towards a house on vet bills, for the fact that the house is a total wreck, the donuts I bought are missing their cream filling and my cooking this week has been awful. It has just been one of those days.

Kitties are important.
You inspired me to make a vet appt for our oldest cat. He has a few missing teeth that always worried me. They fell out over time (and we had brought it up with the vet) but it seemed lately there were more gone. We changed him to wet food which he loves. There's much less puke then there used to be.
We've brought him to the vet on and off since he was a kitten about his bulemia as we refer to it in joking. We were always told he just had a sensitive stomach. He showed no other signs of illness, he was active, at the right weight for his size with a healthy looking coat. Now I wonder if switching his food earlier would have helped since throwing up regularly is never good for teeth.
