not all who wander are lost

Tomorrow is the epic Lord of the Rings marathon and feast at the Drafthouse. It is the third year I've been, two years since I met Mike there, a year since he proposed there. It feels like longer though. This time I should try to remember to bring tissues, since I cry copiously at various times. Boromir, Rohan, the last march of the Ents, Pippen and the knights of Gondor and all the fighting and dying and endings. One of the things I love about these stories is that there are no magical healings - Frodo carries the scar all his life. Things will never be the same, but the world goes on and they have to find a way to live as they are.

I caught bits and pieces on Spike - it makes me want to sit down with all three movies for a marathon of my own.

In the meanwhile, I think I'll pop in my extended score for Return of the King and get some writing done.

We did ours here yesterday, and it went fabulously, the only timing problem was just barely getting two plates out for Ed & Chelle in time to eat dinner with the Steward.

It was neat seeing the extended RotK, which I'm not sure I'd actually seen before, since there's not a film version of it for Alamo to play. Eowyn and Faramir cuddling up in the house of healing FTW. I was reproached for capping his thoughts as "finally a girl who never met my brother" tho. =P

That's awesome. - I looked hard at the screen during ROTK and it looked like there were cherry tomatoes and cherries on Denethor's table. They must have some weird seasons. Wasn't it supposed to be late winter/early spring?

HAH FARAMIR! I love it.

Yeah, it was. I went with cherry tomatoes and grapes. Maybe there's a hothouse or something. Or, y'know, the prop department just needed things that would squish when he bit into them, regardless of season.
