twenty song poem meme
Nov. 29th, 2008 10:47 pmPut the music on shuffle and write down the first lines of twenty songs. This meme is too good to pass by, I think. In other news, I listened to snips of the new GNR album and it did not seem great. I downloaded "Better" because it sounded like the best song and I figure I can give Axl a dollar for making me wait fifteen years for the album.
Hey there's no rules today
Ring them bells, you heathen, from the city that dreams
Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell.
Shine the headlight straight into my eyes
I walk a lonely road
I watch the streets glow before me
Saturday night burns a redness on my face,
you're just another pretty face in a room full of whores
The sun is up.
Reach out, touch faith -
I know your life is empty.
Hey you, have you felt like this before?
I pressed my face against the glass.
Come with me,
late at night when you're sleeping.
Anyone who's ever had a heart
let me take you on a trip.
I wish I had not woke up today.
I want a girl.
I want to be much more like you.
I contributed punctuation. Damn that's a lot of Depeche Mode in there. This is better than all the awful poetry I wrote at thirteen.
I should go to bed.
