Tuesday was my our one year anniversary, and we ate chocolate explosion cake with really sweet champagne. A year - how strange. It feels like less and more. 2008 on the whole was better than I expected it to be. Despite some truly awful moments, it was a decent year. We bought a house when the market tanked but before the credit ran out, and the house is wonderful. I picked up some work, sold a couple articles, did some writing. Mostly I relished no longer being chained to an office job which has done wonders for my stress and self esteem. I cooked more, experimented and created new recipes. I managed to see Sarah, despite the universe's absurd sense of scheduling this holiday. Koshka passed away, at home. We adopted two sweet rescue kitties, Pumpkin and Jasmine.

I tried to make some of them successive, especially on the personal health front to be encouraging. Some of them may seem totally frivolous, or perhaps too easy. I really wanted to have some things on there that I felt like I could save to do when I was feeling depressed about progress, so that I wouldn't give up entirely.

as someone who has lost 30 lbs in the past few years, let me encourage you to just store the shirts you really like that don't fit. otherwise, you will lose 20 lbs... and have nothing that fits.
